At K1 Solutions Training, we are committed to sharing the depth of our knowledge and real world experiences in high voltage (HV) operations. Whether someone is entering the industry for the first time or returning to refresh their HV electrical safety skills, we provide expert led, practical training designed to build confidence and competence.

Our training team previously worked together as associates at the Uniper Training Academy at Ratcliffe‑on‑Soar, and we continue to base our programmes on Distribution Network Operator (DNO) safety rules. From our new purpose built training facility in Lincoln, we deliver courses that reflect current industry standards and operational best practice.

Quality is at the heart of everything we do. Every course is designed to be engaging, informative, and grounded in hands on learning. Delegates gain practical experience in switching operations, the correct application of locks and safety notices, and real world operational scenarios using our 6 outdoor covered substations. Our programmes also support the needs of ICPs involved in the construction and operation of private network installations.

Collectively, our trainers bring 140 years of operational HV experience from both DNO and industrial environments. Our backgrounds span a wide range of sectors, including BESS, solar, generation schemes, and private wire distribution networks.

The K1 Solutions Training team also has a decade of experience working on National Grid Transmission systems, managing cross boundary projects and supporting clients connecting to the transmission network up to 400kV. We provide engineering and management expertise for grid code compliance during the planning and development of new connections with NGET and NESO, and we act as Authorising Engineers or Assessing Officers for NERS and private networks.

Location

Our training centre is located at Lindum Business Park in North Hykeham, near Lincoln. This facility is equipped to deliver a wide range of electrical safety training courses, featuring various types of high voltage switchgear. These resources allow delegates to gain practical, hands on experience in safe switching operations.
